(KEMPTVILLE, ON.) Two local Lock Stations, owned and operated by Parks Canada and part of the Rideau Canal World Heritage Site, became victim to an early morning break and enter.
On the morning of July 4th 2016, members of the Kemptville Detachment, and the Forensic Identification Unit, of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), attended Upper Nicholson Lock Station, located on Andrewsviille Road and the Edmunds Lock Station, located on Edmonds Lock Lane. Both Lock Stations are located within the Township of Merrickville-Wolford.
Thieves entered the Lock Stations and removed an undisclosed amount of cash, prior to fleeing the scene.
