Woman Charged After Pedestrians Struck

On Tuesday July 25, 2017 the Gananoque Police Service responded to a report of a motor vehicle almost striking two pedestrians in the parking lot of a local King St E business. Upon further investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle had purposely driven at the pedestrians attempting to hit them with the motor vehicle. The vehicle and 21 yr old female driver from Delta were located a short time later. Upon a search of the vehicle, the female was found to be in possession of a knife and homemade metal baton. The accused was subsequently arrested and while in police custody damaged the cells at the Gananoque Police station. The female was charged with Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Mischief Under $5000. The accused was held for a show cause bail hearing.
