(Ottawa) – On Tuesday, August 22nd 2017, Ottawa Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Customs Border Protection (CBP) at the Ottawa International Airport notified the Ottawa Police of a suspected Child Pornography investigation.
During a secondary search by CBP, a resident of Kemptville attempting to travel to California was denied entry to the United States based on suspected images and videos of Child Pornography observed on the subject’s cell phone.
Subsequent investigation conducted by the Ottawa Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) confirmed the images and videos to meet the Criminal Code definition of Child Pornography.
A search warrant is being prepared by the ICE Unit to forensically examine the digital device seized from the Ottawa International Airport.
Brent LANKTREE, 24 years old, is charged with:
* Possession Child Pornography s. 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code
* Attempt to Export Child Pornography s. 163.1(3)
He will appear at show cause court on Thursday, August 24, 2017.
