A 20 year old Brockville woman was arrested yesterday for breaching her Recognizance of Bail in relation to an August 26th incident.
The young woman appeared in Perth Court in April of this year facing charges of Causing a Disturbance, four counts of Resisting Arrest, Mischief Under $5000, failing to Attend Court and two counts of Common Assault. At the time she was released from custody on a Recognizance of Bail to reside with her surety in a north end Brockville residence and to remain within her residence except to meet with her lawyer, to attend court and only with her surety.
During the August 26th incident, Brockville Police received a call from her surety at 1am saying the woman had left the residence without her surety and with no explanation. Police attended and confirmed she had left and were unable to locate her. Officers then obtained an arrest warrant for the woman.
Yesterday, the woman’s mother and her surety contacted the police and indicated the woman had returned and wished to turn herself in to police. As a result, officers attended the residence just before 2p. m. yesterday and met her outside where she was arrested and taken into custody.
She will be appearing later today in Brockville Court for a bail hearing.
