Gananoque Police respond to unprovoked assault


In the early morning hours of August 26th, 2018 the Gananoque Police Service received multiple 911 calls reporting an unprovoked assault that had occurred along the roadside of County Road 2, just outside the east gates. The victim was assaulted after he and a group of friends were walking along the road and were approached by a group of unknown people that were staying at a local motel. The unknown accused began kicking at the group and punched one victim multiple times. The individuals that were staying at the motel fled the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries that resulted in medical treatment at Kingston General Hospital.
As a result of the subsequent investigation, a 28 year old Mallorytown male was identified as the accused. On December 6th, 2018 the accused was arrested without incident and transported to Brockville Court for a show cause bail hearing. The accused is charged with Aggravated Assault and Fail to Comply with a Recognizance of Bail from unrelated charges in another jurisdiction.
