Grants Ontario has highlighted 1000 islands Regatta as one of their 9 success stories province wide for 2016 events (out of over 300 festivals
funded) recognized during the 2017 Celebrate Ontario Grant announcement.
With that the province has also pledged to support 1000 Islands Regatta with $29,750 in event improvements and $4463 in marketing support for 2017. This renews the province belief in the ability to continue to grow as a festival in 2017.
1000 Islands Regatta has secured a major headlining act for June 30th, 2017 and is in the process of filling out the rest of the festival line up for the weekend. With the province support the 1000 Islands Regatta will be adding a 2nd headliner for Sunday July 2nd and bolstering the kids zone in particular for 2017 in our aim to continue to become a family oriented festival with attractions for all ages. Full Entertainment line-up announcement will be coming within the next month.
June 30th to July 2nd 2017. Gates opening Friday June 30th at 5pm with opening ceremonies featuring Mayor David Henderson, MP Gord Brown & MPP Steve Clarke.
"Festivals and events bring local communities together, commemorate our heritage and celebrate the vibrancy of our province, which is especially important as we celebrate Ontario's 150th anniversary this year. I am thrilled that our government continues to make important investments through the Celebrate Ontario program that create good local jobs and draw people from around the world to discover all that our province has to offer."
